Karen Lau, Principal Instructor

Karen Lau started training dogs when she was 14 years of age but really got started by training pet chickens at an even younger age of 7!

Originally from Singapore in South East Asia, Karen obtained most of her early dog training background by working with German Shepherds & a variety of other working and purebred dogs. This includes her top breed of choice, which is the Staffordshire bull terrier. She also showed, trained and professionally handled German Shepherds while running a professional pet grooming business in Singapore.

With over 30 years of dog training experience, Karen has traveled, trained and competed in obedience, Flyball, Schutzhund and now the remarkable dog sport of Agility, which has gained tremendous world wide popularity over the last 10 years. Karen has trained with many of the top competitors / trainers of the various dog sports she has been involved in and understands what it takes to be a highly successful dog trainer and first class handler.

Dog Training Philosophy

Karen’s motivational dog training philosophy is simply to train consistently, have a lot of fun and to be fair to your dog always. Teaching others to be successful with their agility dog team mates is another accomplishment that Karen takes tremendous pride in.
