I am planning to teach a new Intro class which runs for 6 sessions of 1 hour long classes each for 6 weeks on Tuesday evenings, starting September 14 2010. The classes will run from 8:30pm to 9:30 pm. The Intro class follows a Beginner class where I have other continuing students who started intro classes with me.

Please understand that the agility foundation classes are one of the most important components of any agility team (one handler and one dog). While it is very enjoyable for you & dog to learn agility and learn what it is all about, there is a need for some time commitment and lots of Patience, Practice & obstacle Repetition in order to improve quickly.
I am known to be a very consistent, strong foundation instructor, concerned about teaching correct techniques and focusing on the health, safety and well being of your dogs always. Dogs have to be at least 8 months old to join my classes and my class numbers are kept small for better attention given to students.

Susan and Mila placed 5th overall and on the podium for the 10” Double drop class!

Eric and Blaze placed 8th in the competitive 26” Regular class overall, the pressure was great and the competition was stiff in this class.

Rose and Pooch placed 9th overall in the 16 Veterans class!

I am so incredibly proud of this team and have so much respect for Rose Taylor and her determination to succeed with her beloved dog Pooch! If you saw them when they first started agility classes, you would understand their wonderful story plus the fact that she is a young senior with a fantastic attitude towards her fun dog! They are proof that you do not have to be super fast and have fancy technical handling to be successful in agility. Way to go Rose & Pooch!

Charity and Duchess placed 19th in the 10 “Veterans class, their first and possibly final attempt at the Regionals locally so congratulations to them! Duchess has had a number of health challenges so this result has been a good one for them.

Jon & Ali Shenton qualified in the 10” Veteran division and we are thrilled for their results.

Karen & Proton placed 29th out of 45 dogs in the competitive 16 Regular division. I am very proud of Prot and he performed much better on the Sunday and his qualification is an important one for us.

Lale and Eddie qualified in this same division too and this was their first time at the Regionals, well done!

Nickie and Zu Zu placed 38th and Annie & Kezzy placed 39th out of 61 dogs in the very competitive 22 Regular division. Congrats to both teams!

We look forward to training and preparing for the AAC Nationals in Calgary which will be held in August http://www.aacnationals.ca/main.html

The Agile Dog Sports teams had super results at the recent 2008 AAC Regionals event this past weekend (June 13-15 2008) in Abbotsford BC. Overall, we performed incredibly and everyone had super runs out of the 6 courses we had to run over 2 days. Mind you, those of us in Group C Regulars had to run Gamblers twice on Saturday!

Eric and Yoko Perrier in 10 inch Regular division were in their first Regionals events ever and they placed an incredible 5th place out of over 30 dogs! Congratulations Eric and Yoko who was the only Boston Terrier competing at this event.

Susan and Mila in 16 inch Vets for the first time and their 2nd Regionals experience, placed 9th place under strong, tough Border Collie filled competition! What a tremendous result for a great team with the only Vizsla entered this year!

Elke and Rookie under equally tough competition in the 26 inch Regular division placed 7th place this year, improving on her 12th placement last year, which was her first experience with Rookie!

ADS Alumni Karen and Lacey Mullen placed 6th Group place in 6 inch Specials and Dana Gallagher and big dog Chester placed 2nd place in the 22 inch Specials division.

Congratulations to all the ADS teams that competed this year, what a great job and so much joy watching all of you compete and supporting each other.

Little Ms. Idgie had a super amazing agility weekend at the USDAA tournament hosted by the Rainer Agility team in Auburn, WA on Nov. 18 & 19, 2006. Idgie and her WA Jack Russell teammates (Bullish on Terriers) qualify in the DAM team tournament for 2007 with an exciting 4th place finish out of 19 teams (we were leading 1st place in all 4 events right up until the final Team relay event).

Idgie and Karen also managed to run a fantastic, challenging Masters Snooker run to clinch the final, elusive Super Q needed out of the 3 required, completing the difficult-to-accomplish Snooker Masters title and also our Agility Dog Champion title in the United States!

All those who ran this tough Snooker run judged by Tammy Domico, will tell you how difficult it was to get very far in order to get top points, so we were ecstatic when we found out Idgie and Karen had placed first, with the only SQ to be awarded in this mini dog height class. Ms. Idgie is the first Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Canada to get an ATChC and now the first to get the elusive ADCH USDAA title as well. She is only the 6th SBT in USDAA history to get this title.

We are bursting with pride and continue to marvel at Idgie’s incredible ability to battle her life threatening illness.

Karen and Idgie were proud to be part of the Canadian Agility Team 2006 at the World FCI Dog Agility Championships in Basel, Switzerland Oct. 6 -8, 2006.

Summing up our incredible experience at the FCI 2006 World dog agility championships is rather difficult, as it was totally exciting as well as an emotional high for us. It is no wonder that the sport of dog agility is so very addicting, similar to how others would feel about their sport of choice I suppose!

Idgie’s brilliant Mini Team Jumpers run this year was clocked in at over 5.25 yards per second or 4.8 meters per second, she was really smoking her run! Last year in Spain, we ran clean in Team Jumpers but were over the course time by two seconds. This was indeed a vast improvement of our overall performance and we will never forget the cheering from well over 5,000 people in the arena, as we ran our final 4 obstacles to the last jump to stop the clock.

The Canadian Mini team placed 16th out of 24 countries and competed very well against some of the best agility teams and countries in the world.

Detailed results and courses are available at http://www.agility-wc2006.com/index.htm.
